When the David Goo Variety Band came to its natural conclusion, David heard of Dunbar's theory and concluded that an audience of exactly 150 could be pretty sweet. Smaller numbers, intimate settings, personal rather than alienating. The 150 Friends Club was born.
In January 2013, Goo called up some of his favourite musicians around London. Immediately, it felt like a good thing – whatever it was.

Track Name: I Don't Believe In Atheists
Atheism, is a myth,
I never met no atheists,
They don’t exist,
I sit in my room and I talk to believers in my mind,
I ask them for things but the believers decline to reply,

And I want you to realize that I am happy,
Can I get it through that thick head?
Can I get it through that thick old head of yours?

I want you to realize that I am not lonely,
Can I get it through that thick head?
Can I get it through that thick old head of yours?

I’m gonna break it down… one more time now…

Politicians, are a myth,
I never met no politician I thought should exist,
I sit in my room and I don’t follow a thing,
I will lead I won’t follow in this world that I’m in,

And I don’t believe in nothing and I don’t believe in something,
In this world that I’m in, this world that I’m in,
And I don’t believe in Jesus and I don’t believe in Moses,
In this world that I’m in, this world that I’m in,
And I don’t believe in God and I don’t believe in Devil,
In this world that I’m in, this world that I’m in,
And I don’t believe in belief I don’t believe in belief,
In this world that I’m in, this world that I’m in.
Track Name: Oh My Golly
Oh my golly I’m gonna kick the bucket but -
I don’t mind it,
Oh my lordy it’s time to turn things around,
Go out with a smile,

An upbeat beat it beats within my pocket,
Till I crock it,
Oh my lordy I try yeah I try so hard,
To keep myself up,

I’ll take a deep breath in,
I won’t beg or plead,
Yeah I try yeah I try so hard,

All your friends around that’s how to beat the bucket,
Open mic it and,
Sing your song and make your mood turn around,
There ain’t that much time,
To sing about your worries,
And drone about your ex’s,
Yeah I try yeah I try so hard,
To keep myself up.
Track Name: Cutting Corners
If you find a place to hide make no mistake ol’ friend of mine we’ll find you every time,
Hide and seek is hard to play in such a small confine,
Mark my words we’ll find you every time,

If you need a place to stay oh friendly guy come back to mine some room is
always found,
Everything’s in boxes there’s a mattress on the ground,
Mark my words you’ll find it every time,
Now Strugo and Todd were sitting in the basement plotting plans of world
domination,
I got no place to go cos every one keeps cutting corners,

I was walking down the street,
Feeling pretty cool,
Walking down the street walking down the street, yo,
I was walking down the street,
Feeling pretty cool,
Walking down the street walking down the street, yo,

I was walking down the motherfucking street.
Track Name: The Ballad Of Keep On Wishing
They’re making films about psychopaths, serial killers and child molesters,
But not about me.

They’re making albums with guys who beat up their girlfriends,
But not with me,

Did I do something wrong?
Did I not kill enough people?

They’re making songs about love…
But not with me.

‘David, David, can you just turn your guitar down…’

We had a song on a TV commercial,
It was exciting, we thought we’d conquered the world,
For about five months, everyone looked up to us,
Until we all kind of realised it was just a stupid bloody advert,

‘Do you always did,
I never understood,
But I keep on wishing cos apparently it’s good,’

Some stupid people asked us if we thought we’d sold out,
As if we were hippies still stuck in the sixties,
Or maybe they thought we were millionaire hippies,
The kind who can afford not to ‘sell out,’
Or maybe they just wanted us to carry on doing gigs for free?
Fuck that.

But it paid for an album – that nobody bought,
And I keep on wishing that one motherfucking person,
Will buy our album,
Please buy our album,
Please buy our album –
That’s the message of the song.

This is reverse-reverse psychology,
Or just psychology…
It used to be a tenner,
But now it’s just a fiver.

Please buy it now,
Before we start giving it for free,
Or I start killing all your children,
Just so one motherfucking person,
Will pay me some attention.
